An anti-blocking agent is an additive, often silica or organic particles, mixed into plastics and other materials to prevent surfaces from sticking (blocking) by creating microscopic barriers or protrusions, ensuring easy separation, smooth flow, and preventing issues like wrinkles in films, essential for packaging, food, and electronics. These additives reduce friction between layers, improving handling, and can be inorganic (physical spacers) or organic (surface modifiers). 

How They Work

◾️   Physical Barrier : 

Inorganic agents (like silica) form tiny bumps on the surface, reducing the actual contact area between film layers, acting like microscopic "spacer bars".

◾️   Surface Modification : 

They create a smoother, less tacky surface, reducing adhesion and friction.
